Infrared Thermal Imaging

We can perform thermal imaging of your home as part of a home energy audit;

The camera can be a very useful tool, but it is very important to understand what you are seeing.

  1. The camera only shows a temperature difference so if the inside temperature is the same as the outside temperature it will not show us anything. It works well in the winter and summer, but can be difficult to use in the fall and spring when it is mild outside.
  2. It forces us to investigate your home more closely, whether it’s crawling into a tight attic or into a musty crawl space – we’ve seen it all.
  3. We can further confirm existing insulation using a borescope; we prefer to drill a ¼” hole in the closet of an outside wall to actually look at the insulation.
